About Katherine
Katherine is an experienced commercial litigator having worked in a regional and then national firm. She has dealt with a range of disputes on behalf of PLCs, small and medium sized owner managed businesses and local authorities.
Her expertise includes:

She has extensive experience in running High Court and County Court claims from pre-issue to trial and appeal. Katherine also deals with enforcement of Judgments and is well placed to advise clients on the various enforcement options available and recommend which is most likely to yield results.
Katherine has been an integral part of her clients’ businesses by setting up a query hotline, delivering training sessions and leading discussions groups addressing key processes and procedural issue in litigation. She has also had articles published on changes to legislation, commentary on decisions by regulatory bodies, procedural issues and tactics in litigation.
Katherine has particular expertise in complex disputes relating to high value assets, including assets subject to finance agreements and involving consumers. She has a strong reputation in the field of motor finance and was named in the top 50 influential figures in the world of motor finance in two consecutive years by Motor Finance magazine. A case highlight for her in this field was acting for the successful Appellant in the Court of Appeal case of BMW Financial Services (GB) Limited v Hart (2012) which provided clarification on limitation in consumer credit cases.
Whilst working at a top 50 national law firm she managed the relationship with a motor finance captive but has also acted for retailers and individuals in motor finance disputes.
Katherine’s in-depth knowledge of consumer credit legislation, a niche area of law regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, means that she is well placed to draft documents compliant with the provisions of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and its associated legislation, which she has done for a number of clients.
Katherine lives with her partner in Leeds and is a keen runner having completed a marathon and a number of half marathons.
